When Steph Ivers (30) and Morgan Price (31) decided to tie the knot, they wanted to do something a bit different.

We wanted it to be outdoors, somewhere remote.Morgan Price

With the Covid-19 pandemic causing numerous changes to their initial plans, they wanted an “intimate” wedding, spent together on one of their favourite peaks.

Sharing a love of hiking and the Scottish Highlands, the pair decided upon the summit of Beinn Bhreac, located above Glen Derry in the Cairngorm Mountains.

It’s a really remote munro, I just got changed at the top and got changed back into my hiking gear afterwards.Steph Ivers

Ranked as the 249th highest mountain in Scotland, a summit of the 931m peak involves a six-hour trek to the top.

Beinn Bhreac is one of the famous Scottish Munros, a collection of 282 mountains of over 3,000ft tall.

Hikers aim to climb every one for the proud title of becoming a ‘Munroist’.

The couple try to visit Scotland every year but were unable to in 2020 because of the pandemic.

On the route they were accompanied by their registrar and wedding photographer, as well as Zack, their black Labrador.

Steph carried her wedding dress in her backpack, with the couple exchanging vows in a -6C wind-chill.

For the actual getting married part I was barefoot, but afterwards I put my boots back on.Steph Ivers

After the ceremony the couple set up their tent by a loch, for a snug first night as husband and wife.

It may not have been the most luxurious of wedding nights, although it’s certainly a unique and initiate location which provided a stunning setting.

In the morning, the couple celebrated with a champagne breakfast and chorizo macaroni cheese, before setting off on a 10-day mini-moon around the Scottish coast.

The previous weekend they had enjoyed a ceremony with close friends and family near their hometown in North Somerset, before driving up to Scotland.

Congratulations on an unforgettable wedding, and to many more adventures together!
